Person Centred Counsellor
I am an intersectional counsellor working to support each client through their own process.
Facilitating your process rather than leading it, my ultimate aim is to work with you so that you no longer need my support.
Working together, I will provide you with the tools to navigate the world with resilience, as well as ensuring you feel confident to ask for support where needed. We will also focus on improving your understanding of yourself and how you relate to others.
I work based on trust, honesty and openness.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework.
How I Work
Areas
I primarily work with intersectional identities and the difficulties that can come with these.
My main areas of interest and experience are queer identities, gender (including cis, trans, non-binary, and those with DSD/intersex conditions), polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, families with mixed ethnic and/or religious backgrounds, growing up as a third culture child, Kink/BDSM, disability/illness (including hidden), surviving domestic abuse, and difficult parented relationships.
I also have a particular interest in the intersection of faith and sexuality/gender (especially Islam) and a lot of experience in supporting parents and partners of trans+ people through their unique and specific journeys, as well as training and experience in supporting those with borderline personality disorder.
Sessions
I work online over video call only.
The initial 20 minute consultation is free and allows us to decide if we want to work together in a counselling setting. After this sessions are 50 minutes each.
Sessions start at £45. I occasionally offer a reduced fee on a discretionary basis.
I am open to working with any kind of client, regardless of lifestyle and history.
Please note that I only currently work with clients who are over 18 and live in the UK.
Contact
You can get in touch with me by email or via the website contact form.
I endeavour to respond to all enquiries received within a week, unless taking time off. If I am taking time off, you will receive an auto-reply, which will include when I am back to work.
Please note, that given the nature of counselling, I am often unable to answer the telephone.
